The Superbowl Champion New York Giants
This is a long overdue congratulations to the Boys in Blue, who on Sunday defied the odds and walked away hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
You couldn’t have written a movie with a better set-up and climax, although by now I am sick of hearing about the Pats choking. They didn’t choke. Their defense was phenomenal in keeping them in the game which the Giants had many more opportunities to score. The offense performed as best as could be expected under the pressure of a truly unrelenting Giants pass rush. When your quarterback spends half the game eating turf, you can’t expect them to run out and score 40 points.
At the end of the day we were treated to one of the best Superbowls in recent memory and the best team won. You can’t ask for much more.
I’ll also add that although my prediction was ten points too high, 27-24 vs. the actual final score of 17-14, I correctly picked both the victor and the margin of victory.
So for any of you out there who took my advice and bet on the Giants to win, spread the love.
